Begins with a half-day pre-workshop session focused on "Implementation Science Scholars in Aging and Geriatrics Research Intensive" for invited early career scholars to provide implementation science mentorship and training at the beginner and intermediate levels for research aimed to address any/all component(s) of age friendly health systems in any setting.

Two tracks on 10/6: beginner (imp sci 101) and intermediate (topics on testing strategies, adaptation, mechanisms of implementation)
Expectations of all selected scholars: Bring a project and a poster to present
Evening will include a Dinner with Keynote Speaker(s) to discuss Age Friendly Initiatives progress through 2025 & 2026 and beyond.
Tuesday, October 7, 2025 (full day)
A full day of case examples, panel presentations and interactive sessions on topics including:
(1) Age Friendly Health Systems including the science, implementation and business of AFHS
(2) Opportunities for embedded research
(3) Perspectives on National implementation of CMS requirements
(4) AI & Age Friendly Health Systems
(5) Poster presentations by attendees.
Wednesday, October 8, 2025 (morning)
Two breakout sessions - one focused on the Evidence, Implementation and Practice of the "M's" of age friendly care, and a second on different healthcare settings (Hospitals, Outpatient/Ambulatory clinics, Nursing Homes and LT HCBS). Also includes a presentation by the NIH on funding opportunities in age-friendly research and implementation and a closing session with Implementation Science viewpoint and Health Systems viewpoint.
